24 Lessons Learned in 2024

2024 was a year filled with many twist and turns. Moreover, it was a year of hard learned lessons. Though trying, in hindsight I realize it was detrimental in the process of becoming more of the woman God designed me to be. Today, I am sharing what I learned with you, in hopes that it will be as insightful and impactful as they were to me.

Here are 24 biblical, but practical lessons I learned in the year 2024:

  1. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. God’s plan is always better than our limited perception of perfection.  (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

  2. Lying is a form of idolatry. Whatever or whoever we choose to lie to or about, is what we hold to a higher esteem than we hold God’s word, which explicitly tells us to be honest… always. (Proverbs 12:22)

  3. The world was framed by God’s word. Our world is framed by our words. Therefore, the wisest thing we can do is use God’s word to frame our realities. You will see results, I promise! (Hebrews 11:3)

  4. God’s restoration doesn’t always appear in the ways we imagined. (Isaiah 55:9)

  5. Discernment of spirits (and obeying what you discern) can save you A LOT of heartbreak.

  6. When you have God’s favor you do not need money or position. His favor will get you into spaces and places that nothing and no one else can. (Psalms 84:11)

  7. When we ask God for an increase in certain spiritual giftings (patience, peace, joy, the ability to forgive, etc.) God rarely ever hands them to us. Instead, He places us in situations that causes us to exercise said muscle.

  8. Relationships are a big part of God’s sanctification process. Every time we exercise forgiveness, patience, love, etc., toward someone who has offended us, we become more like Christ.

  9. We must have a system to ward off the tactics of the enemy, because he surely has a system to attack us. (Ephesians 6: 10-20)

  10. There are moments when it feels as though we are drowning, but we are not. The ocean isn’t as deep as it appears. We simply need to stand up. To be clear, stand on God’s word. (Isaiah 43:2)

  11. Being a witness to God fulfilling, His promises to others is just as rewarding as receiving it yourself. (Romans 12:15)

  12. God wants us to engage with Him. Even when we’re heartbroken, disappointed, exhausted, or angry. Even if that anger is directed towards Him. He’d much rather have us seek Him in our despair, than to pull away completely. (Matthew 11:28)

  13. God’s command of obedience has a lot less to do with Him being a stickler for rules, and a lot more to do with Him protecting us from harm. (Jeremiah 7:23)

  14. People are just people. None of us have it all figured out, and all of us are imperfect. So don’t take the shortcomings of others too personal. In other words, don’t allow other people’s issues to become your problem. Pray for them and keep it pushing.

  15. Prayer is a love language.

  16. God withholds no good thing from us, so if we don’t have it (yet), having it wouldn’t be for our good. (Psalms 84:11)

  17. A baby eagle learns to fly by being violently pushed out of it’s nest by it’s mother. Sometimes in the process of becoming who He desires God will radically thrust us out of our comfort zones. (John 15: 1-2)

  18. “Love them anyway.” (1 Peter 4:8)

  19. “Forgive them anyway, and treat them like it never happened.”(Matthew 18:21-35)

  20. Even if I don’t understand or like it, it’s working for my good. (Romans 8:28)

  21. God can grant you favor in the most unlikely places, with the most unlikely people, so don’t judge a book by its cover. (Proverbs 21:1)

  22. Agreement & unity (whether for good or evil) is one the most powerful tactics for  drastic results. Matthew 18:19) (Genesis 11:5-7)

  23. Knowledge is the key to deliverance. ( Proverbs 11:9)

  24. Even destiny fulfilling relationships can be assigned only for a season. (1 Samuel 18: 1-4) & (1 Samuel 20: 41-42)
